My Philosophy & Approach

My philosophy is rooted in deep trust in your body’s innate wisdom and in your intuition. I believe your birth experience profoundly matters and there is no single “right” way to give birth.

My role is to provide unbiased, non-judgmental support and evidence-based information so you can make truly informed choices that feel right for you and your family. My ultimate goal is to help you feel safe, supported and empowered, whether your path leads to an unmedicated birth, an epidural, or a cesarean.

You are the expert on your body and your baby. I am here to honor your strength, protect your space and walk alongside you with unwavering respect.

“We knew we wanted Jenna to be our Doula within minutes of meeting her. She has the loveliest disposition. She is calm and inquisitive and knowledgeable. She never makes you feel like your questions are foolish or trivial. Throughout my pregnancy, Jenna was available to answer every question we had. She provided insight and resources which helped us make decisions that were right for us. Due to COVID-19, Jenna was not allowed in the delivery room with us, but she might as well have been there given how present she was for us via technology. She did anything and everything she could to support us. She really advocated for both of us to have the most positive experience possible. She was especially supportive for my husband and gave him lots of tips and ideas for how he could care for me during labour. My first pregnancy was positively enriched because of Jenna. I know that I want her there for my future pregnancies and deliveries. We are so grateful for Jenna’s kindness and wisdom.”

“Jenna is like having a very helpful non judgemental and trustworthy best friend around during a very sensitive time. I immediately felt comfortable with Jenna, which was very important since we were in a vulnerable and sleep deprived state. Our baby had feeding issues, reflux, colic and would only contact nap/sleep. Jenna learned our baby's ques very quickly and was able to soothe our baby with ease (which is helpful if you value uninterrupted rest). Everyday Jenna anticipated our needs and helped us with whatever we needed that day: baby care, helping with light housework, child minding or putting the little one down for a nap. There were many days I would need to get out or run an errand, and I trusted Jenna to care of our little one like one of her own. As our little one developed, Jenna would answer any questions we had, connect us with resources, and make helpful suggestions. Jenna assisted us for approximately half a year, she took a genuine and balanced interest in the health and welfare of both mama and baby which was very important to us! You won’t be disappointed with her support, we now consider her a family friend.”

“I cannot imagine going through my pregnancy, labour, and delivery without Jenna by my side. Right from the onset, her expertise, care and communication put me at ease. She was consistently quick to respond, had immense knowledge and advice. Most importantly, Jenna made me feel supported, understood and capable every step of the way.”

“We sought postpartum Doula services for the birth of our second child and it was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made! Jenna was the team leader who coordinated three full weeks of having someone care for our newborn son overnight providing us with the opportunity to get a solid night's sleep. She then became the sole caregiver for our son when we required additional overnight help at a later date. I was able to rest easy every night knowing that our son was in the best care possible with Jenna. In addition, she would make sure the bottles were cleaned and sanitized by morning, which was very helpful. I have already recommended Jenna to several friends and family and will continue to do so since she is experienced, professional but more importantly caring and compassionate.”

“We had the pleasure to work with Jenna as our postpartum doula! She helped us during the first week of our child's life, which reduced so much of our new parents' anxiety. She is knowledgeable, compassionate,  reliable and so kind. Our deepest thanks Jenna for being part of our journey of becoming a family!”

“I reached out to Jenna when I was pregnant with my first baby. As a first-time mom, I had some very specific wishes for my baby's birth. Jenna didn't even blink as we explored these; from the get-go, she was attentive and inquisitive as we explored the importance of these choices and how we could make my vision a reality.

Throughout my pregnancy, Jenna prioritized forming an authentic relationship with my husband and me. We met monthly, which gave us the opportunity to get to know one another and further explore our desires, choices, and fears for my baby's birth. With each meeting, we felt more and more comfortable with Jenna, whose energy always felt calming, positive and genuine. Jenna was also accessible to us in between appointments, and always welcomed any questions or comments we would have.

When I finally went into labour, Jenna was the grounded, solid presence I (we) needed. The intensity of my labour surprised me, and I experienced many moments where I wondered if I would be able to actually get through it! Jenna, however, never wavered in her confidence in me and in my body. She knew I could do it! She was completely attuned to me the whole way through, providing reassurance, encouragement, and strength when it was needed. She had wonderful suggestions for positioning and pain relief and helped me to explore my fears in the moment so that I could let go and labour could continue to progress. I trusted her deeply and felt so comforted by her presence. Ultimately, my baby was born exactly the way I had hoped she would be, and I know that Jenna was a huge reason why this came to be.

I have nothing but deep gratitude for Jenna and her giftedness as a birth doula. I truly feel that God placed her on our path, and she will forever be a special part of our family's story! It's with full confidence and excitement that I would recommend her to anyone who was looking for a birth doula!”

  • I see my role as supporting your entire family unit. For partners, I act as a calm guide, a resource and a teammate. During birth, I offer reassurance, suggest ways they can comfort you, explain what's happening and ensure they get breaks. In postpartum, I help partners feel confident in their caregiving skills, share the mental load of newborn logistics and ensure they are also nourished and supported. My goal is to help your partner be as involved as they want to be, feeling empowered rather than overwhelmed.
